We found a surrogate - who is this mystery woman!?

September 19, 2017 will be a day I'll remember forever. It was the day that I connected with the most selfless, loving, caring, and generous woman. She may be a mystery to you right now but you will soon learn how incredible she really is!

I was at a women's group that morning and was told that I should go talk to a lady there, who was a Doula/Hair Stylist and might have some insight for me through this surrogacy process. As hopeful, anxious, and excited I was, I walked up to her and started pouring out my heart. I started telling her about the beautiful birth of my beautiful son, that days later I was hit with Strep A, how sick I became within 12 hours, that I had lost my uterus, and that my husband and I are now looking for a surrogate. I still remember the expression on her face as I was telling her my story... she was listening with a peaceful smile and was just radiating with love. Not even seconds before I finished my story, her smile grew even bigger and said, "I'll do it. I'll be your surrogate". I think I was in shock, disbelief, dreaming, taken back - just so many emotions! I looked at her again with wonder and she said again, "I would love to be your surrogate". Every time I think about this, I get tears of joy in my eyes... like right now as I write this. This is the most selfless thing a person could ever do!

So not even a week later, after she talked it over with her family, we met up and chatted for hours! We laughed, cried, joked, were serious, and talked about everything that we could think of. It was right there and then that I had a huge weight lifted off my shoulder and I felt at peace about all of this since the first time we started looking for a surrogate. Minutes after she left my house, I phoned Craig crying and told him that we found a surrogate!! He was so excited and reminded me that God was looking after us.

I've been so blessed to have been able to spend so much quality time with her over the last few months! She is an incredible mother, wife, and friend with the biggest heart and smile. She has shown me what it means to be selfless, loving, and so generous. She has a heart of gold and always puts others first. She knows how to lighten the mood and be goofy with me. She has taught me how to make sweet bread and some cool parenting approaches I totally want to incorporate into our family. She also has such a wonderful family that we have been so blessed to spend some time with. Her husband is just so incredible! His support and willingness to allow her to do this journey with us just speaks to his character - he's a strong man that I'll always look up to. This is honestly the most selfless and meaningful thing to Craig, Everett and I.

We have had lots of family and friends ask about our journey so we decided that we would start a blog together to share our story. There are so many people out there that struggle with pregnancy, in many different ways, so why not join together and raise one another up. We are so excited to do this blog together and share this journey that we have already started together! Believe me, we already have some pretty hilarious stories from our medical appointments!
