| 13.5 weeks and counting! | 1/3 of the way there | 153 bpm |
A lot has happened since I last posted and told you that Everett was going to be a BIG BROTHER. We found out we were expecting at the beginning of April and now all of a sudden we are already 13.5 weeks pregnant! For those of you that like visuals of how big that is, think of a hot jalapeno/clown fish/macaroon/matchbox car. Hopefully Baby T isn’t robbing any banks anytime soon because baby has fingerprints now!
We had our first ultrasound back at 7 weeks just to ‘confirm’ the pregnancy for the Regional Fertility Clinic, along with how many babies. One little baby with a heartbeat of 153 bpm! This appointment definitely made the pregnancy feel a lot more real for me. It was very exciting and yet hard in the evening when I got home – I think it started to sink in a little bit that I wasn’t carrying the child myself. I’m still so thankful and grateful, and am trying to stay positive. The baby will be in my arms in no time and it is going to be one of the greatest blessings!
This past Thursday, we went for another ultrasound at 13 weeks and baby was rolling, wiggling, turning, bouncing, and was very active. It is amazing how much the baby has grown and changed in those 5 weeks! The heartbeat is still 153 bpm which makes me think it’s a girl but who knows! Craig thinks it’s a boy again. We got to see everything – the brain, spinal cord, arms, legs, nose, heart, everything. The whole time Everett was watching with curiosity and a sparkle in his eyes.

Heidi has been so strong through all this! She has been sick for almost the whole pregnancy and yet she is still smiling, positive, and being the best mother to her kids. I’m amazed at her generosity, love, kindness, and heart. I hope you all get to meet her one-day!
I know that Everett is only 15 months but I feel like he somehow understands what is going on. He always walks over to the fridge where the ultrasounds are, points at the photos and says ‘Bab’ (aka Baby). If I give him one of the photos, he will carry it around the house for a good 10 minutes as if it was a really special package. It definitely warms my heart to see that! I also keep a countdown of weeks left until baby is born in our kitchen to help us to remember to pray for both baby and Heidi, and of course because I’m just so excited!
A lot of you ask how I’m doing and honestly, I’m doing pretty good for the most part. I knew coming into this that it would be an emotional rollercoaster so I was able to prepare myself a bit. I’m not going to lie, I’ve definitely had some good cries and heartache not carrying this child but I have also had a lot of love and excitement. I’m just thankful that I’m alive and get to be a wife to Craig and a mother to Everett and this next little bundle. Were blessed!
Our next ultrasound is in July when we will be finding out the gender! Can’t wait to share it with all of you!
